Bandung has switched over to festival mode last Sunday as the charming Keuken finally rolls back into the region. This annual one-day foodie fiesta took place at City Hall, hence the theme “City Hall Fairground“, and with the #GoodFestival campaign that contribute in creating a good town festival by building awareness of keeping the environment clean, for example to bring your own food container and using public transportation or bike, made that day positively spinning with aceness.
Flicking through the events is a wee bit overwhelming, so we just head along with an empty tum and going for a wander. We’re chuffed to try the scrumptious treats that many tenants has to offer, like AyamAyaman.com, Onigiri Futago, Batagor Hanimun, etc. We’re excited to check out the highlight booths, especially Loobie Lobster, where they served some finger-lickin grilled lobster. With bands like Vincent Vega, L’Alphalpha, Spring Summer, etc providing the weekend’s toe-tapping soundtrack from the music stage, but the one act we’re most looking forward to seeing is Bedchamber. The kitchen stage providing free yummy delights from Qisthas, Yayi x Tara (Ayshealthyascanbe), Chef Afit & Lucy Wiryono, etc along with DJ performances by Radit & Citra, Dimas Ario, Papermoon Records, etc.
The best part would be the playground area and its main attraction, the ferris wheel which glimmers at night. It was so lovely. Sweet tunes, lazy wandering, yummy foods and a bit of cute-part-of-the-town-exploring makes a perfect weekend time.

Oh what a dull life it would be without graphic designers. No typography, pretty posters or eye-friendly book-covers layouts? We’re feeling a little dreary just thinking about it.
Three cheers then for the folk at Büro Destruct, who spend their days turning creative ideas into full-blown design-y types. They run some pretty great graphic design studio from their hometown, Bern, the capital city of Switzerland and they pretty much live up to their great history as one of the most sought after graphic design studio in the world. They design some of the most well known typography for pretty much everything. From posters for events to children books illustrations, even Radiohead use one of Büro Destruct’s font for their Kid A cover album. Pretty cool, eh?
We’re lucky enough to came to their Small City Big Design Lecture last Friday at Maja House. Lopetz and Fideljus showed some of Büro Destruct’s works from 1994 till present. Along with another guest speakers like Danny Wicaksono, Ismail Reza, and Herry “Ucok” Sutresna, the round table discussions between the speakers were engagingly inspiring!

Dheg Dheg Plat is one-of-a-kind music forum, initiated by Anto Arief, Idhar Resmadi, Rimba Patria, and Budi Warsito, to invites music lovers to gather, bring his/her favorite vinyl and tells the story behind it.
Last Friday, they visited House The House’s studio. From Native Son, Prambors Band, to Hall & Oates, the soothing yet unique typical sound of the vinyls encourage us to just sit back and listen to its tunes. In this 5th event, they invited Morgue Vanguard aka Herry “Ucok” Sutresna, one of veteran in Bandung’s underground music scene, to play and tell the story of his favorite vinyls from Public Enemy.
Here are some snaps from Dheg Dheg Plat Vol. 5.

We’re super stoked to be there at the event again last Sunday. It was sunny all day, the perfect kind of setting for a festive times. The guys from House The House had a change of scene and despite of street, for Keuken #4 The Jolly Camaraderie, they took over one day at an unused train warehouse, at Gudang Persediaan PT KAI Cikudapateuh Bandung, from 8 am till 10 pm.
There are heaps of foods, drinks, and anything edibles stands lined-up, offering some serious delights. We couldn’t decided which one to try first, because they’re all so mouthwateringly tempting. And we’re finally get a chance to see Jirapah on stage. Then DJ Bergas made some you-will-move-your-head-unconsciously-up-and-down-to-the-beats tunes while we nibbled on some freebie bites from chefs and cooks at Kitchen Stage. We can’t say no to a free food really, especially when it’s so damn (pardon our word) tasty. And as the night grew closer, the crowds became packed with people looking for a good time with company. Thus, we’ve had a ridiculously good time there, noon till dawn.
If you by any chance missed the event, we’re pretty excited to give you a little snapshot of all the festivity. Until then, see you at Keuken #5!
more food, food, food, err… I mean photos after the jump!

It’s tomorrow! The event we all been anticipated for months now is finally here. We’re so overly excited about this. Are you?
Below are some of the snaps from Keuken #4 The Jolly Camaraderie’s press conference at Nanny’s Pavillon Setiabudi Bandung yesterday. Chef Odie Djamil, Meizan D. Nataadiningrat from House The House, Adinda Wijaya Putri from Keuken and Imee Putri from Sunlight, gave us a little brief about all the what, why, when, where, who, and how, oh and also a lil’ performances by the three common household items and their dilemma which is quite funny, probably because of their weird uncoordinated hands movement towards each other, and all the things that you should and need to anticipated about the upcoming event.
See you there!
